CARELON Drug and Alcohol Rehab Options: Levels of Care

In 2021, 46.3 million people in the United States (or around 16.5% of the population) aged 12+ were said to have met the diagnostic criteria for a substance use disorder diagnosis in the past year. However, 94% did not get treatment of any kind. We want to change those statistics. To meet this goal, Centric Behavioral Health offers every level of care commonly used in addiction treatment and helps clients in all of our programs create customized treatment plans. Your Carelon insurance coverage should help you pay for any of the levels of care at Centric Behavioral Health listed below. If you or your loved one seeking care aren’t sure which level of care is the right fit at this time, our team can help during the admissions process.

Detoxification

Drug and alcohol withdrawals can be uncomfortable or dangerous. Also called "detox," detoxification programs are designed to help individuals discontinue the use of substances safely. The detoxification programs at our Carelon drug addiction treatment center in Florida help clients make a change and move through the withdrawal process in a supportive environment with trusted staff present. Many clients enter detoxification programs prior to another treatment program (e.g., inpatient treatment), though not always.

Inpatient

Your Carelon coverage includes Inpatient Care. Inpatient programs are the most intensive kind of addiction or mental health treatment. As the name would suggest, entering inpatient drug rehab requires that you eat, sleep, and live at your treatment facility for the course of your program. Clients in our inpatient programs engage in extensive group therapy, individual therapy, recreation activities, and other treatments. Many clients start with inpatient treatment because it gives them an opportunity to distance themselves from their daily lives temporarily while developing a new set of skills to cope with and navigate obstacles after the program.

Partial Hospitalization

Partial hospitalization programs (PHP) are the second most intensive type of addiction or mental health treatment. Your Carelon coverage includes a partial hospitalization program at Centric Behavioral Health, you'll live off-campus but will engage in treatment activities such as group and individual therapy on-campus five days a week for 6-8 hours daily. Many people in PHP or other forms of outpatient care opt to live in our supportive housing facilities*, but not all.

*Payment for supportive housing is similar to a typical rental agreement. Contact us to learn more about our supportive housing sober living costs.

Intensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) at Centric Behavioral Health are less intensive than PHP and require a lower time commitment. They still include a combination of therapy groups and individual therapy but allow for optimal flexibility. Attending an intensive outpatient program might be ideal for those who want a structured treatment program but have unavoidable outside commitments or who are stepping down from a higher level of care. Like in PHP, those in intensive outpatient programs or other forms of outpatient care at our Carelon drug addiction treatment center will live off-campus, whether in supportive housing or elsewhere.

Outpatient

Centric Behavioral Health provides a range of outpatient services. These may include recovery groups, including but not limited to 12-step or alumni groups, continued therapy, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and other types of support. Generally, this is a step-down level of care clients engage in after a more intensive program.

Aftercare planning

Aftercare planning is an essential part of any treatment program. Those who go to our Carelon drug addiction treatment center for any level of care will engage in aftercare planning with the help of treatment staff. Aftercare will look different for everyone but can include getting set up with continued therapy options, finding support groups, or otherwise preparing for life after treatment.

Why Choose Centric Behavioral Health?

There are so many reasons to choose Centric Behavioral Health over any other Carelon drug addiction treatment center. On top of offering a full continuum of care, our team of trusted professional staff members, and accepting most major insurance companies, features that set Centric Behavioral Health apart include but aren’t limited to the following.

Specialized programs

We know that your life experiences inform your relationship with substance abuse and mental health. To accommodate this, we've created specialized programs that cater to communities, individuals, and groups with specific needs. For example, veterans, first responders, professionals, young adults, and college students.

Dual diagnosis support

Often, substance use disorders co-occur with other mental health concerns, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, or depression. When this happens, it is referred to as "dual diagnosis." Addressing both substance abuse and any comorbidities can be a game-changer for those in recovery. That is why we have dual diagnosis care available for clients with a substance use disorder and at least one other mental health condition.

Evidence-based treatments

Research shows that numerous therapies and treatments can be used to address substance use disorders effectively. For example, family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), music and art therapy, medication management, and community support have all been proven advantageous for individuals in recovery. Depending on your needs, your NYSHIP covered plan at Centric Behavioral Health could include a combination of these and other evidence-based treatments.

Recreation activities

We take a whole-person approach to healing and understand the necessity of restorative recreation activities during substance use treatment. As a result, we offer nutrition and fitness education, yoga, meditation classes, sporting equipment, and more on-campus for clients who are interested in or might benefit from these additions to their treatment experience.

Supportive housing

Supportive housing is also called "sober living." We have sober living facilities for individuals in need of a drug and alcohol-free living space, whether they are in one of our treatment programs or not. Supportive housing can play an invaluable role in the recovery process because it gives you the gift of privacy, freedom, and opportunities to socialize with others who maintain a sober lifestyle.
