Effective Treatments Used in
Drug Rehab for Meth Addiction
Treatment models that involve behavioral therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy and contingency management are currently seen as the most effective models used in drug rehab for meth addiction. Our residential inpatient, outpatient, and partial hospitalization programs all utilize effective therapies known to address meth addiction. Every level of care differs, so it is often helpful for clients and their families to learn about their options.
Residential inpatient
Residential inpatient programs provide 24/7 support because they require that clients live at a meth addiction treatment center while receiving care. This level of care can be ideal because it removes you from your daily environment temporarily and allows clients to immerse themselves in the recovery process. Clients attend groups, discover coping skills, and use recreation activities to build or rebuild important skills and quality of life.
Outpatient
Outpatient programs allow clients to live outside of their treatment facility while getting care. Some people start out in an outpatient program, whereas others move down to an outpatient program after attending residential inpatient. Usually, you engage in treatment for around twenty hours per week or less while in an outpatient program.
Partial hospitalization
Partial hospitalization programs are similar to other outpatient programs but require a higher time commitment. Usually, you engage in treatment for around twenty hours per week or more while in PHP. PHP can be ideal for those who need more support than outpatient programs offer but aren’t in an inpatient program.
Dual diagnosis
Dual diagnosis is a term used when individuals experience a substance use disorder and one or more additional mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, or PTSD. Dual diagnosis treatment is designed to address both substance abuse and the other mental health diagnoses a client lives with. Since meth use often occurs alongside and can be triggered by other mental health concerns, dual diagnosis treatment is a game-changer for many of our clients.
Medical detoxification allows you to get off of substances in a safe, supportive environment with medical staff present. Not everyone attends detox before entering a residential inpatient, PHP, or outpatient program, but it is common.
Supportive housing
If you are in recovery or are considering recovery, you know how much your environment can make a difference. Supportive housing is also called sober living, and it is designed to provide a drug and alcohol-free living space for clients.
Aftercare
Aftercare is exactly what it sounds like - care that one receives after exiting a treatment program (such as one of our residential treatment programs). Aftercare programs are designed to help people transition back into daily life and maintain sobriety. Often, aftercare involves support group meetings of a client’s choice, working with professionals for mental health therapy, and other supportive interventions utilized on an outpatient basis.
