What to Expect During Addiction Treatment

A continuum of care means that you move into lower, less intensive levels of care as you’re ready. That way, you’re only suddenly thrown into a situation with the appropriate tools to navigate it.

Aside from medical treatment, inpatient rehab is the most intensive level of care available. Clients move to the facility for a time, which is 60 to 90 days for many people, but it can be longer or shorter.

Once your program is completed and you’ve gone through the appropriate continuum of care, you’re connected with resources to help you as you return to your daily life. Everyone’s aftercare plan can look unique.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment in Ohio
Around half of the people with a diagnosable substance use disorder have a co-occurring mental health disorder, such as anxiety, depression, bipolar or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
One can occur before the other, or it may be unclear in which order the conditions appeared. The reasons there are often mental health disorders that co-occur with substance use disorders can depend on the individual. Some people may have a co-occurring disorder earlier in life, and they begin using drugs or alcohol to self-medicate.
